Pre-sales Engineer
Location: Barcelona, Spain Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced

 

As part of the worldwide pre-sales team, the Pre-sales Engineer is responsible of managing the coordination, completion and handover of tender proposals for our clients and prospects. This is a key position with a great deal of involvement in the sales process and a decisive influence in the achievement of each deal. 

In order to be able to perform this task, the Pre-sales Engineer needs to possess a solid technical background, outstanding writing capabilities and proven experience in pre-sales or consulting endeavors, always facing the client and having to put together complex IT proposals or projects. 

The current opening if for a Pre-sales Engineer who will mainly provide support to Sales in France and other French speaking countries across the globe. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and respond to complex RFP processes and unsolicited proposals.
  • Assess requirements and craft appropriate solutions that are sound and cost-effective.
  • Produce cost and effort estimations when assessing tenders and opportunities.
  • Subcontractor management and negotiation required for pre-sales activities
  • Provide direct support to the sales department in technical presentations to customers and partners.
  • Create presentations and other support material for the sales department.
  • Study and divulge internally best practices, technology breakthroughs and product updates.
  • Handover of projects to Scytl’s delivery department after award and support during execution

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, telecommunications or equivalent level.
  • Previous relevant experience in an IT environment. 
  • Native or equivalent knowledge of French and another language (English/Spanish) both spoken and written. Other languages will be a plus.
  • Great communicator, creative and analytical. Able to present complex technicalities in an easy to understand manner.
  • Proven experience in working together with sales people for the technical part of highly customized sales proposals.
  • Advanced user of the MS Office package, especially Power Point, Project, Word and Excel.
  • Results driven. Able to prioritize effectively when dealing with multiple proposals and deadlines. 
  • Ability for teamwork.
  • Availability to travel worldwide, sometimes on short notice.

Extra points for:

  • Knowledge on the following technologies: web based applications, cryptography (PKI, digital signature...) and digital security
  • Experience in public sector contracting 
  • Experience in international tendering processes 
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and requirements gathering
