Sales Director Southern Europe

We are looking for a Regional Sales Director based in our Headquarters in Barcelona, with experience in selling software bundled with services or projects. Former services sales executives able to sell software are a good fit.


  • The experience required for the position is 10 years with in-depth knowledge of the sales profession: developing business and closing directly with customers, partner qualification, management and tender process bidding.
  • Education and languages: University Degree in Business, IT or related fields. Oral and written business proficiency in Spanish and Italian are essential. Knowledge of Catalan is appreciated due to customers in Catalonia. Any other languages are a plus.
  • The position comprises 2 types of sales: Large and slow (mainly project based with software and services bundled with hosting): Customers of the public sector in large tenders that require leadership orchestrating internally Presales teams, legal and finance and externally building rapport with public sector officials to work with us as well as qualifying partners to work with. Small and fast (mainly software and services based) in the private sector (being able to sell direct to customers in 3-6 months sales cycles).
  • The Regional Sales Director is responsible for sales of our election modernization projects and electronic voting solutions in Southern Europe, mainly Spain and Italy. The territory may increase accepting surrounding countries depending on the candidate´s success and company´s needs.
  • Partner Management: The RSD will orchestrate finding the right partners and interfacing with our legal department to set up the best teaming agreements for different tenders.
  • The candidate will be supported by a Presales team and is expected to lead the sales strategy in the territory. The candidate does not have direct reports but is expected to show a level of authority through non-formal leadership abilities. The candidate is constantly engaging in a virtual organization with Presales, delivery, legal and marketing being responsible to lead them to close new business.
  • The candidate must be familiarized with tender’s processes (RFI, RFP, etc.). Know How of European Procurement procedures help but is not mandatory.   
  • The Professional needs to understand both short and long-term sales cycles and manage both concurrently within a quarterly driven company.  
  • The candidate will report weekly and precisely into CRM (we use Sales force). Quota achievement is reported quarterly.
  • This position reports directly into the General Manager of Europe based in Barcelona´s Headquarters.
  • The average amount of travel is 40%-50%.
